of .260 Remington ammunition that exists in France.:what:

A grand total of 8 boxes of Federal 140 grain ammo @ 50 euro's a box versus a normal price of 68 euro's a box.

My normal supplier came through. The 8 boxes represent what Federal has in stock in France... remington had none, nor did the norma supplier.

GEEZE that's some expensive ammo! Are laws such that you cannot easily load your own .260 Remington, or are tariffs such that the components would easily add up in price to what you pay for a box pre-made?

~$625USD for 160 rounds of ammunition... that's just a bit over twice what we pay(assuming he means Federal Vital-Shok 140gr).

I too am curious if reloading is an option.

Does Norma sell any unprimed brass in France? You probably could have done better if you chambered your new rifle in a domestic metric round, like some modernized variation of a 7mm or 8mm Mauser cartridge, or 6.5x55.

I am chambering my new long range rifle in a .260 wildcat, but I have a few hundred once fired casings of .308 and .243 to press and fireform.

Interesting that that represents the entire supply of 260 Rem ammunition available in France at this time. It can be difficult to find here in stores as well at times but we always have the mail order option.

It isnt 62 USD for 160 rounds...

Its 400 Euros or approx 650 USD for 160 rounds:what:

I do reload. But like to have some factory ammo at hand as a reference point. Since I am only begining to reload.

Even reloading works out to about 1 euro or 1.56USD a round. Everything is expensive. Powders, Primers, Cases, Bullets. I paid close to 100USD for a 3die redding set for .260 Remington.

Well I did want the rifle chambered for 6x47 lapua but the gun maker couldnt do it. So .260 was the next option.

PTK: Taxes are structured wierdly as is supplier pricing. For example .222 remington ammo from Sako as an average for about 20 Euros for a box of 20. While the same from Privi Partizan can be had at 7 euros box in lots of 25 boxes.
Then there are calibers: 8x57 for example is 30 euros a box. But 8x60s (what most Mauser 98K's are re-chambered for) averages about double that i.e. 5 euros a cartridge.
.338 Lapua Magnum ammo is easily over 100 euros per 20.
