So I took a leap of faith right into the fry pan! Just bought win. sx3 3.5 inch gun and it worked great for about 250 rounds and then lockedup! It looks like the extractor has caught an edge of the barrel.Gun is locked closed with a spent round in chamber. Has anyone had this problem with one of these and should i fix or return cause i'm leaning towards taking it back. thanks for any input.

Was it bought new? If so, did you disassemble and clean it well before shooting? Could be the preservative got hot and has stuck everything together. That's all I can think of right now besides a mechanical failure.

yes milkman it was stipped and cleaned and worked well for 250+ rounds . It looks like extractor has hooked edge of barrel. Yes it was bought new . The store wants smith to fix but i dont believe you should have to fix or file down parts of new 1200 $ gun.

My comment about cleaning was not a criticism, but a question brought forth from other similar situations I read here where gun owners fail to clean the new shotgun and experience jams etc. I would agree that a new $1200 gun should not need a file to perform properly. IF so then they should have included one with instructions. :)
I am sorry to hear your difficulties. I would not be a happy camper under the same circumstances. I would at least expect it to be sent back to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. I don't know how Winchester is now that the ownership of firearms manufacturers seem to be a moving target. That is not to say a local guy could not fix it, but why should he have to? Good luck and keep us posted as the saga develops.
