Anyone know significance (if any) to a Chiefs Special with AWCXXXX serial number. Can't find anything on internet to help. Thanks for looking, Bud

Around 1983 S&W went to a serial system using 3 letters followed by numbers.

They started with AAA.

I don't think there's anything special about serial AWC. It just means the gun was made in 1987.
