I think I know the answer to this :( but wanted to make sure I am not missing out on something in my area.

I know of very very few rifle ranges period in the Columbus area, but I'm itching to get CMP affiliated and can't find any club or event which will help out. Seems like Northern or Southern Ohio have their share, but not here.

I understand the lack of interest in a gun club here what with the tens of thousands of shooters, multiple huge gun stores and such :fire: but I'm hoping there's somewhere I can get involved in some real shooting!

Any advice/help is appreciated!

There are other ways to qualify if you're looking to satisfy the CMP marksmanship requirement. For instance, they accepted a photocopy of the certificate I got for completeing the NRA Basic Pistol course.

ask the guy's at Vance's. quite a few of them shoot, so they could tell you when and where...

Well, its Norther Ohio, not Central, but the National Matches and several other matches are held at Camp Perry, in Port Clinton.

Check the list on the CMP website. I believe there is a list of approved clubs listed by State. Click on this link ODCMP (http://www.odcmp.com)

Pickaway County Sportsmen, Inc. is CMP affiliated. See their website at http://site27663.dellhost.com/pcsc/
