.32 cal. rifle bullets?
That looks a lot like a complete .32 ACP round...
Am I missing something?

Also looks like a light hit from a firing pin at about the 5 o'clock position.

It has no marking on the case saying what it is.Is the primer the right size?

Correct. It is a .32 ACP round. There is a light firing pin strike on the primer. It was in a box of one hundred .32 cal 170grain rifle bullets, which are almost the same size as the ACP round.
I had bought the box on a closeout from a local dealer, who in turn had got them from a dealer that had gone belly up. The box had been opened & re-sealed.
I am lucky - the box had started to break open, so I opened it to count out the remaining bullets, before putting it up for auction on Ebay. That's when I found the live round:what:
Something tells me both Ebay & the BATF would have been less than amused had I shipped it to an auction winner. The lesson I guess is that when one gets assortments of gun related small parts, watch out for surprises.

I sent for used .38 special cases. About 300 of them and inside I found one loaded. It looked old and the bullet was all lead.
I pulled the bullet and emptied the case. I sure as hell would not try and fire it not knowing what kind of powder it was. After firing off the primer with the case empty, I salvaged the case. The rest got trashed.

You sure it wasn't for assembling two-stage .32 rifle projectiles? ;) :D

Hmmm....a 2 stage projectile, launched by a Stevens 44 & 1/2....hmmm....
Hmmm...Seyfried has dropped hints about loading "shells" for 8 gauge double rifles. Perhaps this one is the detonator:p
I think that project would have to come long after I get my .500-.450 #1 Express shooting straight:D
