I have some lead cast bullets with gas check on them 260 grain for my 38-55
I read there web site and they state there BHN run about 18: I wonder anyone here load there cast bullets and how are they in the field in taking game?
I use wheel weight air cooled in 262 grain with a BHN of 13 with FPS around 1450 they seem to mushroom and retain 90 percent of there weight on deer.

I've used their 325 grain LBT design in .45 Colt at about 1300 FPS. I've shot them at boar and deer. I cannot tell you how they looked afterward; as far as I know they are still going. The animals quit right away.

The CPB 38-55 bullet is near perfect for game. I load mine over Reloader 7 at 1800fps in a 26" barrel sized .379 as my bore slugs at.3775. superbly accurate using Lyman tang and globe sights.

Cast Performance Bullets are outstanding bullets. Those are the same bullets used in Grizzly Ammo (http://www.grizzlycartridge.com/). (same company) If you go to the Grizzly Ammo site you will see a link on the left sidebar and on the homepage to Cast Performance Bullets.

I use Cast Performance 400gr. WFNGC bullets for my .500S&W, using 38gr. of H110. I'm shooting them out of both my revolver (8-3/8" ported barrel) and a TC Pro Hunter 20" Katahdin barrel. Although I've not shot the rounds with the TC Pro Hunter enough to do any comprehensive analysis, these rounds are very accurate from the pistol platform.

I have not had an opportunity to take game with it yet, but I suspect it will have no problems turning a hog inside-out.

cast performance has accounted for more than 1 deer out of my 480 ruger super redhawk. longest shot being a hair over 100 yards and i did not quite get end-to-end penetration, but it was close. and the deer was awfully dead.
