My wife has purchased a gift certificate for me at a local range but my choices are limited. I really like the look and feel of this shottie. You cant go wrong with an 870 either though. This will be primarily for HD and some fun.

I love mine. Only drawback is it seems impossible to find any accessory barrels (choked, slug, etc.) in the Marinecote finish.

Mine has been nothing less than 100% reliable and is fun to shoot. The extra length of barrel gives me 8+1 rather than the usual 5+1.
I have added a sling, side saddle and a shortened shoulder stock with a shell carrier. I don't need a bunch of accessories (I do have the marine line launcher system, but that came as part of the package), nor do I need a variety of barrels.
I have been happy with it.

Love mine... I have added the accessory heat shield. Busts hand-thrown clays just fine. :D
I don't recommend you use the pistol grip that may come as an accessory. I shot a few express buckshot loads through it about 5 years ago and my thumb still hurts.

Heatshield is a plus, and you can get them in Marinecote finish. I recommend the ones sold by Mossberg NOT the ATI ones. Fit is better.

What is the Marinecote made of?
