They just don't look right. Does anyone have a factory round they can measure OAL on? I bought a batch of bullets and want to load them up.

7th edition of the Hornady handbook of cartridge reloading says
C.O.L. of 1.230 for no 45160 HP-XTP.

I don't have any factory rounds ...but I do use 230 xtp's for my hunting and ccw loads...my gun likes 1.23 OAL...I can post a pic of one of my reloads if that will help.

The factory rounds I measured were 1.235 O.A.L. That is what I loaded them at and they worked just fine.

My reloads are using those bullets are set at OAL 1.200 ... had a few minor issues in some 1911 pattern guns (that work great with all kinds of other ammo), so I went just a little deeper. If you do this, remember to back off the charge a bit and work back up... I ended up with (using mixed cases) 8.2 Grains of HS-6, seated to an OAL of 1.200", with the 230 grain Hndy JHP/XTP with a Magtech 2 1/2 primer to fire it off. Kind of warm in my gun, but good.

I am going to get 1000 of those bullets as a free bonus on the Hornady LnL AP (Press) I purchased recently. Hope they shoot good.

Hope they shoot good.

They are the most accurate JHP bullets I've ever used...and I've tried them all...but this will vary some from gun to gun.

Iron Sight... I too am awaiting the 1300 bullets that are coming my way... I couldn't wait so I bought a couple of boxes of those 230grain .451 XTPs... very good... good accuracy. Got a 1000 of those coming, and 300 .44 Mag 240gr XTPs on the way too (2 die sets and an extra powder measure w/ pistol rotor).

I'm diggin' my LnL press...

I posted the same question a while back when i got mine and walkalong was kind enough to give me the same help. I also called hornady and they said 1.230; however, i still haven't goton around to loading 'em yet  moving and other stuff.
