I'm waiting for delivery on a police trade in 11-87.
I know that every gun is different but wondered if anyone who owns one has noticed theirs having a particular affection for a brand of buck and slugs?
Mine has rifle sights and I wonder what kind of accuracy to expect with rifled slugs at 50 and 100 yards?
I shot decent enough groups with the bead sight on my Mossberg at 50 yards so this should be a tad easier.

Regretfully, there's no way to predict what the best slug will be for a given shotgun. Since yours is a smoothbore, skip the sabots.

In your shoes, I'd try both Rottweil and OK Brenekkes, the 1 oz Winchester HP, and the Remington and Fed equivalents.

HTH....

Perhaps these shotgunners are more sporting, does anyone own one of these?

I have one but I have had it Vang comped so what works good in mine probably won't help you. As Dave said, you have to try a few different types.

I have heard fantastic things about the Vang comped 12 gauge.
How much was the work?
How does yours shoot?

Regarding ammunition, I can't say what your 11-87P will like, but my Benelli M1 Tactical shows a preference for Federal Tactical Reduced Recoil OO Buck. Shot pattern with that load is tighter than any other OO load I've used.

I've run almost a dozen different kinds of rifled slugs through it, too, but nothing I've tried so far stands out as "the one".
