I'm not one to try new things at the range which could be a bad idea. So I thought I would pose the question here. I was cleaning my 1911's after a range session and reassembling when I grabbed the wrong frame for the slide I was holding. So I know for a fact the slide, barrel assembly from a compact 1911 will fit on the frame of a government model. Would this bastard weapon fire? (I dropped a pencil down the barrel, dry fired and gun, and the pencil went flying so the firing pin would probably detonate a primer) and would it be safe? I know these were not designed to work together, but everything fits and the controls all work....so experts what's the verdict?

note: this was a firestorm goverment frame and a firestorm mini compact 1911 slide.
these are the guns

Yep, it may fire, but once. And if it may fire again it may not continuosly fire reliably.
