Sounds great. Really depends on a lot of factors. What type of stock, parts, ever receiver. I'd buy it if it looked good, mostly USGI.

Very good price, less than what I paid for mine.
Is Reed's having a sale?

Where ?????
Reeds is a joke, at least the one on Alum rock ave... the guys in the gun dept are such arrogant a$$es.. i was there over the last weekend and they wanted 1500 for a scout.. and the price on M1A of various quality was 1400 and up i think they had a white feather model for like 2900 or something....
sometime Sportsmans Supply has them at good prices, excpet its a cash only price, add 3 or 6% for check or credit. and guys that work there are self important jerks as well...

On the Scout, watch for:
1. Paint chipping off areas like the edges of the stock, comb, near operating handle and ESPECIALLY the magwell. I hate cleaning paint chips out of the action.
2. Make sure the muzzle brake is tightened and aligned. Mine came 'aligned' only because it was loose. When I secured it, it pointed high.
3. Front sight post will be tall, so it'll center in 20 clicks up or so. At least mine (26 clicks) and the other guy at gun skul's (20 clicks) did.

That's a pretty decent price for a M1a scout. Most likely when I get mine, it'll be thru an online retailer. The cheapest I've seen is $1250 thru gunbroker.

Downside: synthetic stock, and I would prefer wood (due to Skunkabilly's pic :fire: ).
Downside: subject to stock on hand
Downside: +3% for credit card purchases
Downside: taxes
Downside: the sales staff (except for the bald guy. He actually spoke).
Upside: low price!
Note that you must mention the price is off of their website to get the sale price.
Since I've been informed that I may not have 100% job security and the lease on my apartment doesn't expire for 10 months, I regretfully wish you all the best in buying the SA M1A Scout Squad that should be in my hands!
PS today is my 23rd birthday....and I haven't received a steel and wood present from YOU yet! :scrutiny:
