"Technology" has no pros and cons except as it delivers a suitable gun.
Old fashioned heavy steel 1911s win at IDPA, "modern" light plastic Glocks win at IDPA.
There are others reasonably suitable and you can debate the pros and cons endlessly while you should be practicing.

I don't know what other type of target shooting you are talking about. I would rather have the 1911 than the Glock for NRA 50 yard slowfire, for example.

you need to be way more specific as to what technologies you're referring to and what "new" guns and what "old" guns you're talking about. need more information to be able to offer opinions.

Pros and Cons of Technology in hand guns

It's all technology. Which particular technology?

Plastic I trust, electronics I don't.
