I have a custom mkiv series 70 and wanted to know the value of it N/M barrel, bushing, satin nickel finish, pearlites, and 24 K gold plating on mechanical parts trigger, hammer, bushing, ect. I dont have a clue who customized the pistol just picked it up for a $1000. I love the gun, good pattern at 50 yds. i'll post pics later tonight. :uhoh:

Well I would say if you paid $1000 for it, you've kind of answered your own question as to its value. But all kidding aside, most of the bling (the gold plated parts) don't add that much attendant value to your gun. Likewise Colt, and others, have sold drop-in National Match barrels and bushings for many years; whether or not it's been properly fitted to the gun is another matter. It might also be useful to know if any other mods have been done to the gun; maybe a trigger job, having the barrel throated, fitting the slide to the frame, high visibility sights, and so on. These are the kind of things, that if done right, will add value to a Colt MKIV Series 70.
