Just got it in Maine. Original Whitney 2nd Model Navy .36. Everything is original except the cylinder (it is most likely from an older repro.) The loading lever and barrel have different serial numbers that each end with the letter F. It's a shooter (missing front sight but what the heck...)
added info: the serial number on the cylinder matches the one on the loading lever and it looks old, so I'm not sure if it's a repro cylinder or not.

The frme is the same hue as my Rogers and Spencer. What causes that color. My R&S looks almost Plum. I thought it was just a bad blue job.

The frame could be of a different alloy and didn't take the bluing as well as the other parts. Or it could be a batch of old salts that wasn't refreshed.
Generally the barrel and frame are blued as an assembly so I suspect the former over the latter.

The frame is a nice aged, brown patina. I'm guessing that at some point the barrel was reblued. According to the salesman the only un-original part is the turning knob for the loading lever assembly.
