Older Redding pistol die set

A friend gave me an older Redding .44 mag 3 die set (series A) and the instructions are not there - it appears that the decapping is done with the second (expander) die instead of the first FL sizing die and I guess that's how Redding used to do it. NP, but the first die is threaded in the top and nothing is in there - I'm just trying to figure out if it's missing something?

The Full length sizing die can take an optional decaping pin unit IF its like my RCBS dies. I don't think its missing anything. I see on the Redding website there new dies decap with the sizing die as you said.
