Rings to mount a Weaver J-1.5 scope on a Marlin 60?

I have a Marlin 60 (technically a Marlin 75C .22 carbine), and have had it mounted with a Weaver K4 scope. I'm thinking a slimmer scope would balance/handle better, so want to switch it out with a Weaver J-1.5 I got on eBay for $15.
I read up on it a little, and some posters seemed to indicate that the Weaver J scopes take some odd ring size. Do they not take the standard 3/4" rimfire rings?
Anyone have advice on what rings to use to mount this scope on a rimfire dovetail groove?

Me, I'd stay with the K4. Good field of view and more light than a 3/4" tube.

I couldn't have said it better than Art did. I have one of the same rifles and a good bright scope will let you shoot to the potential of your rifle.

Hmmm, my interest in changing scopes was partially based on THR comments that large/heavy scopes were not advisable on a rimfire dovetail, as they have a tendency to slide, warp the dovetail, etc. Is that inaccurate?
I'd like to at least give a try to the J scope, do a little comparison shooting. It is a very nifty little scope, compared to the junk rimfire scopes commonly sold today. I've been, overall, most impressed by the old Weaver scopes.

I have a 3X9X32 scope on my 60. It's mounted on tall rings w/the see-through bases so I can still use the sights. It moved at first because I didn't tighten it down enough. Once I torqued it down, though, it was fine. Hasn't moved in years and after many thousands of rounds.

3/4 rings are correct, and there are several diff types on ebay to win, straight two piece, angle pieces, single bar , swing out, etc.
but I would keep the k4.
