Tuesday June 10th the House Finance committee will be considering a bill on microstamping sponsored by representitives Joseph Almeida (D-12), Edith Ajello (D-3), Anastasia Williams (D-9), Grace Diaz (D-11), and Joanne Giannini (D-7). The meeting is going to be held at the end of the day's session, which will probably be around 5 PM in the Trainor Hearing room, room 35, of the Rhode Island statehouse. I am attaching the state contact information for the members of the committee and if anyone is interested in attending the committee you have that information as well. You can find free parking across from the State House behind the Department of Transportation building off of Capitol St. Emailing of the representitives would be helpful, just to let them know that their constituents do not approve of microstamping legislation.

Rumor has it the bill has been scratched from the 10th. Any word on this.

I attended the hearings when the senate heard the bill. It's pretty sad when the RI State Crime Lab shows up and testifies AGAINST the bill.

I cannot make this if it is in fact on the 10th. I will be calling a guy I know at the crime lab to let them know it's back.

i really wonder how ignorant these politicians are! how do they figure this is going to reduce crime, or even catch the propper person? do criminals go out to the gun store, buy the gun they are going to use in the crime they are planning, and fill out all the proper paperwork? no, they simply buy a stolen gun, or steal one them self. so what, the law is goint to require that a valid state id is given to purchase ammunition? hmmm, i guess nobody has ever forged a drivers license before. if you are going to do this to ammunition, you might as well do this to hammers, screwdrivers, etc., etc., etc.. the law that should be introduced and passed, is one stating, and enforcing that a politician has to have a certain level of comon sense in order to run for office!

Well evidently either we did something right or the politicians opened their eyes, because the legislation got pulled from the agenda. They may have just moved it to later in session so we'll have to keep our eyes open, but for now it would seem as though the bill is dead.

Yes, California is a lost cause. Forget them, we're just fine... Oh but wait, what is this here? It's spreading.

Every time I read people telling me the fight is lost in CA I try and tell them it is still the front line. If Ca falls, so will others.
