The latest thing I've heard on the news re: North Korea is that they have threatened us with a 'sea of fire', and now there is talk of 'addressing their energy shortages' (per this article (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=578&e=1&cid=578&u=/nm/20030113/ts_nm/korea_north_dc) ).

I thought the US didn't negotiate with terrorists! I say give'm nada. And if they take that as an act of war - fine!

How many of us would make ourselves the victims of armed robbery, why should the US submit to armed robbery (not to mention the pecedent this would set - if your country is a little short just play the nuke card and the US will deliver!).

This makes me hopping mad that our country would even think to give this third-rate belligerent country anything other than a a cold shoulder.

I think there is a difference between Iraq and North Korea in that SaDamn has threaten the mother of all battles if Iraq is invaded. N. Korea has threaten a sea of fire if we don't start sending them oil again.

Well, it turns out that the way N.Korea justifies it's immense military to it's own people is to claim that the whole world is afraid of their "military might" and hence pays "tribute".

I wish I was kidding. Basically, our gov't has kept a lid on this to prevent massive public fury. It's a very interesting sign that they're finally letting this factoid out...it's a sign they're preparing us mentally for war if needed.
