What do you guys think of the Franchi Law 12? Are they as good as Benelli?

I'm not all that familar with Franchi. I've always pretty much stuck with Brownings or Remingtons shotgun wise, but I've come across what I think is a pretty good deal and I just wanted to find out a little more about them.

Franchi Law-12 Shotgun

It's like the one above, just with a slightly shorter tube like this one.

Anyone have one or know anything about them?

Most importantly, does anyone know if parts are easy to get? I tried a search on Numrich to try and find out myself, but they didn't list it and I thought that perhaps it was listed under a different name or model number. I don't really want to get stuck with something that would be a paperweight if you broke a firing pin or something.

Gun hasn't been imported in a long time I think, it must have some parts interchange with the SPAS 12 and even maybe the SAS 12 but still it may be a problem. Anyone own or even ever see the SAS 12 pump version?

Okay, well I got it. Here it is.

I finally had a chance to shoot it today with both #7 and 1/2 Remington Birdshot and with Remington #4 Buckshot and it functioned really well with both. Not a single malfunction during 150 rounds. The second Garand or Mini-14 type safety (the first safety is a cross bolt type commonly found on most shotguns) in the trigger guard takes some getting used to and I had one clay fly on by without firing a single round at it because I'm used to having a single cross bolt safety, but I think that I'll get used to it after awhile.

Here's how it patterned with the 7 and 1/2 Rem Birdshot.

I aimed right between the two logos.

Recoil was slightly more than the Remington 1100 or the 11-87, but about on par with Beretta or Benelli semi-auto shotguns and recoil is certainly quite a bit less than any of the various pump action shotguns I've fired over the years. The trigger's a little less than 4 pounds and there's no creep at all. It also seems to cycle REALLY fast compared to some of the other shotguns I've shot.

It's really kind of a fun shotgun to shoot, I'm glad I got it.

I'm glad you like it. :D I liked the action and the trigger, but disliked everything else about it.

I need to convert my saiga 12...
