Is the 9mm Steyr M-A1 a good auto pistol?

I am not familiar with that brand of firearm but see it is on sale for $389 with two high cap magazines at Cabelas and normally retails for $589. On paper it sounds like a heckuva deal but wanted to see if anyone has got any particulars on this handgun.

Thanks much.

It is good pistol but that price is too high. CDNN has them for $300 or so.

There have been a couple of threads here on the Steyr M-A1 pistols...

I have a couple of the M9-A1 guns that I've been very happy with...

The current CDNN price is around $340, plus $10 to ship to your dealer, so, after factoring in whatever your dealer is charging to handle the transaction, the Cabelas price is not that far out of line...

Having said that, CDNN is great to do business with...

There have been a couple of threads here on the Steyr M-A1 pistols... More than a couple . . .

The search feature is your friend. Why do I keep mentioning the search feature?

1) there are years of posts on any particular subject ( Steyr M and M-A1 questions come up at least once a month )

2) some folks just get tired of answering the same question over and over and over and over.

It would be understandable if there were not a search feature, but this forum has one and you can use Google to search this forum, too.

Hmm, actually had tried that but quite often someone seems to ask a question about a firearm lately they get the same non-helpful response such as the one you had posted but was hoping for a little bit more this time around.

There is a reason they are so cheap. I believe that they are underated, however. Earlier models had some reliability problems. People have had trouble getting over that. I've heard that the newer ones as you describe are fine. I prefer DA/SA.

Thanks.

I went ahead and passed on it though. I found a Keltec p9 that sounds good.

Eh, my mind changes like a woman on these things anyway.
