My current 9mm SD load is the Winchester Ranger 115gr +P+ load avertised at 1350fps. Does anyone have any velocity/penetration/anything data on this load, or any experience/results/opinions on it? Anything is appreciated.
thanks.

That's the rd my agency worked with W-W to design. I investigated and supervised a number of shootings where we used that rd. It performed very well under a number of conditions, from straight up nothing but light clothes to shooting thru windshields, car/door bodies, dry wall, etc.
Now that I'm retired I can carry whatever rd I choose. For 9mm it's still the rd I carry.

I carry using that load in my Kahr PM9. Wasn't it developed for the Illinois State Police?

The Winchester +P+ 115 grain JHP I tested (product code RA9115HP) was slower in a velocity comparison with Remington 115 grain +P+. The Winchester averaged 1263 fps while the Remington did 1324 from the same 4" HS-2000. Not sure if this is the same Winchester round you are talking about, the box is marked for LEO used only.

This load clocks 1250 from my 4" S&W Model 659.
Goes about 1300 from my Marlin Camp Carbine with a 16" barrel.

Clocked velocity will vary depending on the temps during the time tested. Shooting that load out of my 6904 I would get as much as 1320 fps. Low was 1270. Out of my 5904 I got as much as 1360 fps.

Sounds like the average is around 1300.
Still seems like an excellent SD alternative to the much vaunted 127gr +P+.
