Go to jarheadtop.com Jim is good guy and a big supporter of all things high power. The Konus scope that he offers is not a bad deal.I have looked through them and was impressed.

I had to shop Ebay for 3 months but I finally found a Kowa 60mm scope for $249. (w/eyepiece). Others here will probably say differently but I don't think you'll see individual bullet holes at 500 meters with any scope in your budget. (my Kowa can see them at 200 yards most of the time . . .I've never tried it at 300 but I doubt if I could see them at 300)
Just my .02

If you talk to most highpower shooters the Kowa is top of the line.I have the TSN 821M with the 27 power LER,it is worth the money. If you can wait save your money and buy it. If you go with an adjustable scope, like 20x60 the higher up you go the darker it gets.Check at your local range sometimes older guys are getting out of the sport and you may get a deal on used equipment.
