I found a like new Colt Mustang .380. Blue slide, lightweight stainless finish frame. Problemo. It's priced right and I put it on hold. Butt......It's a special Edition rollmarked LADY COLT. If I buy, and carry this gun will I get the yen to wear high heels? I have big ugly feet to match the big ugly rest of myself. Maybe I could find a purse to match?

Seriously, would you feel wierd carrying this thing?

If you were my buddy I'd give you a hard time about it...alot. But hey, the badguy won't care what's written on the slide.

Proud owner of a Smith & Wesson model 60 Lady Smith reporting in. I am perfectly comfortable in my maniless to own such a gun and if you don't think so I will hit you with my purse.

If you like buy it. Things like that make great conversation pieces. My Ladysmith is my girlfriend.

Chris

Oh your buddies will rib you to be sure, so don't think they won't but like I said, just hit em with your purse.:D

Don't worry about it. As several have mentioned, the Ladysmith models from S&W are carried by a lot of men because they find that the guns work well and fit well for them. Besides, assuming you're going to carry it concealed, who's gonna see it but you?

If anyone does see it and starts making wise cracks, just tell them you are in touch with your feminine side - your cold, blue, fire beathing feminine side. :D

The lady Smith and lady Colt were of course a marketing thing . But carrying one will only bother you if you have doubts about your manhood.

Rosie. She is short, fat and loud. You just can't have better irony then that.

As long as you are sure of your manhood it doesn't really matter. Even the most manly man must show his feminine side sometimes. :D

Yes, buying this weapon will suddenly make you go to gay bars and dress up as Cher. ;)

If carrying a Sig 226 won't make me any more SEAL like, then carrying a "Lady" gun won't make you effenimate or seemingly effenimate.

Now you SHOULD BE made fun of for owning a .25 caliber. That is like the mouse gun of mouse guns, maybe a feeder mouse gun. :D

Just kidding whatever works for you.

Chris.

The HELL what is written on it!! :D If it works ... get it, as others have said. That'd be no more ''offensive'' to me than the crap Ruger revo's have stamped all over one side of the barrel!!:p

Just call it your lil Philly and put it in your pocket. Those who make fun of it you just hit with your purse. :neener:

Seriously, why worry about the name written on a gun. If it functions reliably, suits your needs, and in a caliber you approve of what more do you want.

Like Jesse said, If you were a friend I would give you crap about it for fun. For me personally I wouldn't own one.

Ya gotta learn to be secure in your masculinity man. Buy it if it works for you. Who cares what the fools think.

I can just picture it. "Nobody moves or I'll throw this here little gun at ya!"

I have Walther PP in .32 that is my mouse gun. I just like the way it looks and feels.

Who cares what the gun says on it. If you like it, carry it and get good with it.

Get a garter-type thigh holster. Then you can just hike up your skirt and ... bang!

I almost bought a nice used Ladysmith J-frame with pretty wood grips once. Wish I had; it fit pretty good.

Truely a very cool looking piece.

I just love those Mustangs, but I'm not crazy about the blued slide on this one, considering the tactical niche - summer carry when sweat becomes an issue...
I think I'd look for a stainless one.

I really like the Model 60 Lady Smith. I've been thinking about buying that gun for a while now. It's a great looking and handeling gun.

Why did they have to put that "Lady Smith" on it?

I'd like one too. Fortunately it says Ladysmith not Lady's Smith.

Would you get in trouble with the ATF if you scratched off the name? :D

No problem with AT&F. Big problem with NOW. I got a free subscription to Brides magazine when I bought gun.

cslinger...I was gonna put white grips on it ,,, butt, everyone knows no white after OCT. 1st. So I'm in a fashion quandry. I kinda like the garter thing though.

If you have to use lethal force, and you have a girl's gun, I think it automatically is considered a "good shoot".

STEVE M
August 22, 2003, 08:53 PM
My back up is a ladysmith J-frame. It has a better trigger and better grips

than any of the more manly J's. Let an attorney say I have a Rambo

complex for carrying 2 guns!

Don't worry about the name, if it works for you; use it!

Personally, I think you should practice with it until you can beat the snot out of your buddies with it, and then Lord it over them every time they get a bit out of line!

My wife has a pink holster she is willing to part with. Seriously, this is the kind of stuff you'll get from your pals. If the jokes on this thread don't bother you, then , by all means, get the gun.
We have a bowling league at work. One of the newhires is a tiny lady who weighs maybe 100 lbs and stands about 5 ft tall. The guys were ragging on her, asking if she needed any help picking up the ball and if she could could roll it all the way down the alley. She just smiled and laughed. She then proceded to throw 7 strikes in a row, a spare which she picked up and then stuck out. Needless to say, the guys left her alone. When you get the gun, practice with it a lot. The best revenge is shooting well.

popeye, look at it this way. Is someone really gonna give you crap that the words "lady colt" are printed on the side of your GUN. I can see it now.

Mugger - :: perp draws knife :: Gimme you money motha******
You - :: draws lady colt :: I think not
Mugger - ****** (allusion to homosexuality) that's a ******* gun!
You - :: BANG!!! :: Bite me.

Just tell the guys that you stole it from the hot Ruski spy-ette who loved you long ago. (pause for dramatic effect, stare into your shot glass) It was a different time then, full of danger and intrigue....

However, I did end up giving it to my wife!!

I shot It saturday. Ran about 50 rds. of various HP & Ball through it. I can only get two fingers on grip, so my pinkie is sticken out just like when hold my cup at the tea parties I am now compelled to attend. Being recoil operated, it is more controlable than the PPK/S I traded away on this gun. As mentioned earlier the blue slide is gonna preclude pocket carry. I draw the line at carrying a purse. Maybe I can carry in a zip-lock-freezer bag.

Gun's function during firing was flawless. It must be later model as on right side there is a channel cut in frame where pin on thumb safety protrudes. Channel allows for E-ring around pin holding saftey firmly in frame. I've read the saftey can walk out.
