Had A guy show me what looks to be an old baton about 8'' long made out of brass I think ,the handle area is rapped in leather like an old battle knife. There is A small hole on the club end about 1/4'' round. There is A safety type switch on the handle that when moved exposses A button that fires the thing. Baton unscrews in the middle and shows A firing pin protruding from the center of flat area just like A bolt. The other half is hollow with A round steel bar width wise in it as maybe to keep solid projectiles from being fired through. The handle end is stamped: Federal laboratories inc. Pittsburg,PA. USA. On the side there are patent dates of: sept. 15 1925, dec. 15 1925 & dec. 29 1925. Does anybody have A clue as to what this thing is? your help would be great. thanks

I'll bet it shoots one of these: http://gunbroker.leaseanauction.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=11317265

This company has been in business since the early 1900's. They sell non-lethal police weapons. The thing you have is probably one of their 37mm baton guns which fired a small mace cannister. They still make such items.
