I'm ordering a BBL and a few other things direct from Remington. On the order form, it states

NOTE: You must include your state sales tax if applicable

Their online Country Store states that only Connecticut residents need pay sales tax, but I can't find any mention of what "if applicable" means for direct parts orders. Is it for Connecticut residents only, or for any state that has sales tax?

It is plan and simple. If you buy out of state you don't pay state sales tax.

If that's the case, why they don't change the form to state "must include Connecticut sales tax if applicable" is beyond me...

If they have a business presence in another State, they have to charge that States sales tax.

Whether or not their factory service centers would fall under that rule, I don't know, but I think they would.

Some states are trying to collect sales taxes on interstate and internet buys. In many states you are supposed to send your tax collector the sales/use taxes on those purchases - but it's too hard to enforce

Take my word, if you don't live in Conn., you don't pay sales tax. Life is a game. The object is to win the game. Do you slam on the brakes if you go one mile per hour over the speed limit? What are you, some pro tax ...... forget it. Do not try to screw up the system. If you do, we will find you.
Relax. Go with the flow. If you spend the money one wine, women and song, you will still have made much better use of it than the government.

Don't they use it for wine and women too? :D
