.45 ACP - correct OAL?

I'm trying to resolve a discrepancy I've come across regarding load data for .45 ACP. I've always made mine (200 grain RN) to have an OAL of 1.250 w/ a crimp of .475.

I was having trouble w/ ammo feeding into my Micro-Compact and was told by someone at the range that my data was wrong, and they should be 1.230 crimped to .469. So I reduced a few hundred to that size, but the feeding issues turned out to be something else. Now I'm ready to make a new batch of 500, and I want to make sure I set them up to the correct lengths. What are they?

1.26 seems to work best for most bullets with a round nose...I crimp to .468 but .469 would work too.

You don't have to be at the max oal. What the books say is the max. Play around with what will feed reliably in your gun.

Like you, I tried the max oal, but had issues with the bullet engaging the rifling upon battery. So I backed off a bit and now everyone is happy.
