I say bersa only because it has the better trigger in general and much better sights. If you got a good trigger on the makarov, and good sights it would be the same. THey are both capable of the same accuracy however. Fixed barrel guns tend to be as accurate as the shooter. They're both incredibly acurate guns.

My experience:

My Bersa Series 95 in .32 ACP edges out my Makarovs and my Series 95 in .380 ACP, but it is not a real-world-significant difference. The Maks in 9x18 are more accurate than my .380 Maks and Bersa, but again, not by enough to matter in any defensive shooting situation.

anyway, both the bersa and the mak are good guns for embarrasing guys who just spent a lot of money in the accuracy department.

I went to the range the day after I bought my Bersa, and put every bullet (about 50 of them) except my very first shot within 4" of the center. I'm VERY happy with it. I've gone to the range a few times since then and have had similar results.

Actually, if both guns are good ones..there wont be enough of a difference to measure let alone worry about. Maks' SA trigger is consistantly as good as the Bersa's. If shooting DA trigger first shots..the Bersa would pull ahead by one round.

I have both and both are excellent guns. My Makarov collection has spanned a Norinco 59, several East Germans, Bulgarian, Imez, Bakail, etc. But none of them had as nice and consistent of trigger as my duo-tone Bersa. Also, none of them had as good of sights. And while I can shoot maks very well, the accuracy edge goes to Bersa, but not by much.
