Could it be possible ...?

I wonder, could it be possible to identify a memory?

Back when I was in college, over 20 years ago in the early '80s, a friend worked in one of those little, hole-in-the-wall sort of stores that combined convenience store, tobacco shop, newsstand, and pawn shop. There were several tiny handguns in the counter's display case with the fancy lighters and the collector coins, all collectively and, I now know inaccurately, termed "derringers". There was one in particular that fascinated me to the point that I wished I could buy it but both my budget and my parents would have prevented it.

I can't accurately remember if it was a 2-shot gun with 2 barrels one atop the other or a semi-automatic, but it had a squareness to the overall shape rather than a rounded, revolver-type grip. It was a small caliber -- .22? .25? And it was a thing of beauty with engraving, pearl grips, and the brightness of gold and silver.

It was so small it could vanish into the tiny wrist-purse I used in those days. No bigger than a purse-pack of tissues or a deck of playing cards.

My memory seems to have some resemblance to a Browning Baby, but were those ever made with the gilt and silver and engraving -- like a piece of jewelry?

Any idea what gun it might have been?

That's definitely a possible.

It might have been all gold with silver enhancing the engraving. Its been a long time so the details have faded though the fascination has not. :D
