You must have a valid Texas Hunting License. Get it at most sporting goods stores, even Wall Mart. Many grocery stores sell them in hunting country....

Depends on your date of birth.....I'm so old I didn't think about that....Get a license and see what they say......

In TX you don't need a license for depredating hogs. If you are paying for the hunt, you will need a license.
I can't find my 2007-2008 rules and regs book, but in the 2006-2007 TPW booklet, if you were born 9/02/71, you will need the Hunter's safety course.

If you have not taken the hunters safety course you can buy a one-time deferrment for ten dollars in addition to the regular license fee. You must be accompanied while hunting on a license with deferrment. After it expires (in August) you will have to take the course to get a new license.

Feral hogs are considered a nuisance animal/varmint. No license needed.
Edited to add: They are mighty tasty, too (if Mr. Piggy is under about 200lbs).

Not according to Texas F&G regs!
"Although feral hogs are not classified as game animals, a hunting license is required to hunt them."
See section 12:
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/wild/nuisance/feral_hogs/#hunt
The exception is:
Depredating feral hogs, if a landowner (resident or non-resident) or landowner's agent or lessee is taking feral hogs causing depredation on the landowner's land.

Well, pardon me, I've always been a "landowner" or "landowners agent" when shooting the destructive varmints.
