Ah what the heck, let's start an F.I.E. (any model) club here at THR folks. Post your pics and stories and such.
Here is my model E15 (22 LR and WMR convertible), which was gifted to me from a good friend. His dad bought it in the 70's and it had a box of JC Higgins Sears 22shorts with it. There were exactly 6 missing. It also had a box of shotshells in which 1 was missing. The 22mag cylinder had never been shot. The original receipt was with it and the whole shebang, gun and ammo...was less than $60 if I recall correctly. I will have to find it and repost if recalling incorrectly.
Anyhow, I know it is no where near the gun that my S&W 617 is. I know the cylinder gap is a bit wide and I often refer to it as my paperweight or simply "the POS"...but the fact is, it goes bang every time I want it to, and generally speaking, shoots to POA. I have about 200 rounds of magnums through it and prolly closer to 550 rounds of LR through it. Just another fun tool in the box.
I will eventually get the dremel tool out and clean it up and really make her shine, and prolly throw a nicer set of walnut grips on it. What a sweety, nothing like hot rodding a beater eh?
