Or you can hang out on the auction sites (gunbroker, gunsamerica, auctionarms, etc.) and watch what similar pieces are going for. That's how I helped myself decide what I was willing to pay for the S&W 34 (6 shot, SA/DA, .22lr) that I recently acquired.
