Well i'd like to become a somewhat good gunsmith and i'm wondering where i should start. Is there a good book out there that shows you the most common practices of gunsmithing? What is a good gunsmithing set i can buy. My first "job" will be rebuilding a ruger 10/22. From what i hear over at rimfire central it's very fun and addicting. I'm sure you will be seeing a lot more posts in this section from me from now on....mostly because i'll have no clue what i'm doing:D
I'm sure some fine folks wouldn't mine helping me out though;)

Hi abrink,
I would recommend the following web sites as the best places to start.
http://www.americangunsmith.com/
http://www.brownells.com/
Obviously there are more, but these are the best IMHO...

Short of going to school for gunsmithing taking a few night classes in machine shop aint gonna hurt anything.
