Propper Military Sling Technique

Hey all. I have a sling for my Enfield, and for the most part it works ok. I can't seem to get the thing adjusted correctly, and end up having to grip the stock somewhere, rather than putting my hand up against the sling stud. It's really rock soild, but I notice the drift when I try and hit a small target at >100 yards (small being 2-4 inches across).
I remember somebody posted a link to a site that had a military manual detailing how to adjust and use a sling. I can't find the post using the search feature for the life of me. Does anybody have a good link to a site that shows how to sling yourself up? Graphics are essential. Thanks very much in advance.:)

The No.4 sling was designed as a carry implement and not as a shooting aid. It was commonly used to steady the rifle when fired from the prone position but the method is different from the technique used with the Springfield sling.
The proper Enfield prone sling technique is to leave the sling loose enough to allow the following procedure. Hold rifle by small of butt in right hand. Extend left arm through sling and bring back around and through the sling again to grasp forearm. The sling should now run around your upper arm and once more behind your wrist. Ths sling should be adjusted to a length which provides good tension when this method is employed.
I know what I want to say but I don't know if I'm saying it clearly.

Shai Vong, is it a U.S. M1917 Enfield, or a British Commonwealth Lee-Enfield? If the former, then the sling doubles as an accuracy aid, per the Technical Manuals. If the latter, the Brits didn't quite catch on to a solid sling-up during firing, and used is simply to carry the gun to and fro. ;)
