Polymer frame w/best weight balance?

The only polymer frames I've shot were H&K USPs in the full size and compact size and each in .40s&w. Not only did each seem to take the recoil really sloppy, but even with a full magazine, it seemed really top heavy. My impression from a recent gun show visit and personal experience is that steel and alloy frame pistols just balance and handle better while shooting... until I picked up a Walther P99 and began to think different.
Considering all the popular designs such as Glock, Ruger, H&K and Walther, what would you say is the best balance between top, bottom, and front to back in terms of empty or loaded weight?

I'd say its a toss up between the Walther P99 and the Steyr M series (although I'd put the Steyr slightly ahead of the Walther).

Can't speak to the Steyr. I own a USP FS and like it. But, my vote goes to the Walther without question. Second only to my P7. But, you said polymer.

I like my Wilson Combat KZ-45 balance.

I believe that Glock has done the best job of balance both loaded and unloaded. The low axis bore is perfect at least for me. It naturally comes to point of aim position from the draw.

Answers to this will probably be all over the board. But I do think most will agree that the Ruger P-series does NOT fill the bill, but it still is a great line of pistols. My vote goes to the S/A XD's in 4".

I'll second CWL's vote for the Wilson KZ-45 and add that the KZ-45 Compact might be even better, strickly in terms of "balance".

USP 45F. Exactly one handful of gun. (Anything more is a waste. :D )

Just to be ornery, I'll say that on the whole, the Walther is good. The Glock is ok, but my Ruger P95 is (Sorry Fox News) fair and balanced!!! :neener:
I DO own all three!! :what: I shoot each equally well!!
