I have my Dad's Winchester Model 74 semi-automatic 22 caliber that has a crack running from the ejector port down to the trigger.
The s/n indicates it was made in 1948.
It will still shoot okay, but I'd like to fix it.
Not sure if stocks are still available for this rifle.
I have read another post on this forum about a broken stock on a Marlin Model 60 and thought I would post this question for suggestions of a good do it yourself fix.
Thanks for your opinions.

Numrich might have one. If you wont to fix it you'll need a goog wood glue. Pry the crach open use a tooth pic to get glue into crack, make sure you remone the action first, use sur tubing or a rope pull it tight wipe off extra glue. After gule drys sand and refinish stock. If you are lucky you may not need to refinish it.

Brownells Acraglas is what I'd use on that. Jim

Same here.

Wood glue stock repairs very often don't hold over time.
And if it doesn't hold, then you have a very huge mess on your hands trying to clean it all out so you can fix it again.

If you fix it with AcraGlas, it will still be fixed when you & I are pushing up daisies.
