Does anybody have and use one of these? Are they tough enough to hold up to a heavy gun like a Ruger GP100? Will a GP100 fit into the large pouch?
Pro's and Con's of the pouch?

I'm asking as I've about decided that this would be the best and most comfortable way for me to CCW and I will probably be using a Ruger GP100. So, I need 'real world' feedback.

I had one in "denim" color years ago.
I never used it for CCW much after a few wearings, since I decided it looked more "gun-packish" than "fanny-packish". YMMV.
It would easily hold my Ruger SP101, albeit with some sagging, but it certainly wouldn't hold my 6" barrel GP100.

The GP 100 I'm looking at has a 4 inch barrel---would it fit? Based on the dimensions from Uncle Mikes site, I'd guess 'no', but sometimes things aren't as they seem.

I don't believe the 4" GP100 would fit well, if at all. Ruger lists the GP100's overall length at 9.5", while the Uncle Mike's Gun Pak main compartment dimensions are about 8" x 5.5" x 1.6".

Here's a blurb from the product description for the Uncle Mike's Gun Pak:

"Original – 8" W x 5 1/2" H x 1 5/8" D.
Carries most small and medium frame pocket autos, compact 9mms, and small frame, 2"- to 3"-barrel revolvers.

Federal – 8 3/4" W x 7" H x 1 5/8" D. Holds most medium and large frame autos and many medium frame short barrel revolvers."

Thanks, Sawbones. I had an idea that the gun wouldn't fit, but I'm glad to find someone who actually has one to talk too.

I'll have to go for the large Uncle Mikes fanny pak. It's the only fanny pack I've found that is secured both by your own belt loops and by the pack belt. That way, the packs' buckle can't come undone and drop the pack and no one can cut the packs belt and get away with the pack.

Thanks for the info!
