A suggestion for a possible new feature in our profiles!

Is there any way with the current BBS software that we could say "bookmark" certain threads (within our profile) like our favorite threads or most informative ones? That way other members could see your favorite threads as well and you won't forget about old great threads. The only site that I can think of that has this feature is "FreeRepublic.com". This is a very cool feature and would be alot of fun.

You could put em in your Profile and/or Sig Line.

Would be too long to put that in the sig line and um the sig line is the sig line.
I don't know where you'd put 50 some odd threads that you really like in your profile.

Note - The following is strictly my opinion: So, nobody else thinks this is a great idea? No. To be honest, I don't think that would be very useful at all as a feature in the profiles. I have zero interest in your favorite threads and wouldn't open your profile to see what they are. My favorite threads change so often, I would be updating the list constantly (if I used the feature at all), and that sounds a little too much like work. :)
Back to the facts: vBulletin, as you know, doesn't have such a feature and we don't have the time or inclination to petition them to add it. You may want to email them with the suggestion. We cannot add the feature ourselves as that would mean adding unsupported code to the vB software.
One thing you might try to see if it does what you want is to add a thread to the Test forum which contains your favorite threads. Then add a single link to that thread in your sig. BTW, I agree with you that the sig is not the place for links to all of your favorites. One caveat, however, is that the Test forum is cleaned out every other month or so, but this is just an experiment to see if the idea is really as good as you think it might be.
Good luck.

It's not really for other people, it would be for my own interest and so that I don't have to have 50 links in my favorites folder that all point to different threads on THR. I understand that you probably wouldn't be interested in my favorite threads, it would be for our own convenience and somebody CAN look through them if they want. Anyways, as an example, here's my home page links, I think it would be really cool if VBB did this in a new release:

Don't know why that would be a problem, but if it is for you, just make a web page of your own with the links in it. Save it on your hard drive, and make a bookmark for it. Your own little private 'web' site, with all your bookmarks!

WonderNine, I was going on your statement in your original post: That way other members could see your favorite threads as well ... Now you say it's not for other people. If the list is strictly for your own use, then I don't see why having 50 links in your favorites folder, perhaps in a sub-folder, is any different from having 50 links in your profile. If anything they would be much easier to access in your own favorites.

As mal said, use folders in the bookmarks list.

You could make a web page somewhere with the links on them and put a small link to that page in your sig...
