Ok, I'm pretty new here, but thought this was worth everyone's look over.

In the latest issue of the Rifleman, Under the Armed Citizen section (stories of when a gun was used to defend one's self), a story about Pizza Hut appears.

The head story discussed a deliveryman James Spiers, who was making a delivery and was vicously attacked. He drew his CCW, and shot the attacker legally.

Pizza Hut fired him for violating corporate policy! He worked there for 10 years!

To voice your disgust feel free to call Pizza Hut's corporate center at 1-800-948-8488.

I will never buy Pizza Hut again!

Welcome to about two months ago.

Yes, we only have about 6 other threads on this very incident.

If you are going to call for not eating at Pizza Hut, you might as well call for not hiring James Spiers as he is obviously an employee who doesn't follow rules.

This is old news and the call to boycott Pizza Hut has already gone out, but silent boycotts are not beneficial to causing change. As the OP proposed, contacting the corporation and telling them exactly why you will spend your money with their competition does actually work. Companies have responded to boycotts when that is done because it's not just the loss of revenue, but the entire effect of a boycott, the bad publicity, the benefit to the competition, etc.

Organized boycotts are more effective than random ones. 100 people sending letters represents thousands who are unhappy. 100 people calling and complaining represents thousands who are unhappy. If the complaint is all the same, "Don't fire employees who defended themselves or others legally.", they get that message.
