Mossy "Marinecote" finish turns yellow?

At the gun show yesterday, I noticed a Mossberg 590 in the Marinecote finish that looked like crap! The nice stainless-ish look of the SG was kind of a yellow-ish green. Totally made me want to :barf:

Was it just neglected?

Is there something I should clean my 590's finish with to prevent this?

Should I just sell my 590 marinecote and get a 590 in basic black?

Thanks all!

Could this be some sort of cheap lacquer coating over the nickle that is starting to yellow?

This has me a little worried. Iffin' I ever have a child, I'd like to hand down the same pretty SG I have now, now something that looks like the cat peed on. :uhoh: :D

If you are concerned, then just get a Remmy 870 Marine Magnum.
I've had mine for 13 years now (I think) and it shows no finish wear.
