Ak type rifle owners opinions needed

I currently have a thumbhole stocked AK 74.
I want to add some US parts and am looking at the KVAR US made stock sets.
They offer NATO and Warsaw pact length stock sets.
I'm inclined to go for the NATO length since I (hopefully) will only be shooting targets with this rifle.
Does anyone have any experience with these kits?
Recommendations?

Unless you have unusually short arms go with the extra length buttstock.
This SSR-99P has the Kvar extra length buttstock on it. The Lower handguard is also Kvar US made and the Galil style grip is from ACE.

Also, the screws are NOT included with the buttstock. You have to order them also.

What would be a fair price for a 7.62x39 Chinese AK drum mag
NEW in wrapper, never opened?

I've seen the Romanian 75 rounders going from $100 to $125

That price is a bit high for the Romanian drums.

But would be a good price for an unused Chinese drum.
Actually they might well go for a bit more.

Would it be out of line to ask to trade one for a Kobra sight and a couple ak 74 mags?

Which Kobra? One of the older models that use funky batteries or one of the newer ones that use regualr batteries and have a better mounting clamp?

This is interesting. Here are Chinese drums for $125...

And his prices are not low.
And here's someone who wants $229 for them...

And now I've found a couple individuals offering them for sale on gun boards for as little as $80.

The KVAR synthetic AK stocks are nice. They are available in black, "plum" and OD with buttstocks in either the standard Soviet/Warsaw Pact length or what they call the "NATO" length which is 1.5 inches longer. I have one of the longer ones in black on my AK-74gery which is a KVAR kit on a Saiga. I also have a couple of AKs with the shorter buttstock and, to tell the truth, I like the short stock better, although either works fine for me. Some people have a strong preference for one or the other though. I would suggest that you try to handle ( and preferably shoot ) AKs with both length buttstocks, then buy the one that you prefer.

I like the short length-of course I am a short guy. My other reason for short stock preference is when wearing an LBV the shorter stock helps me compensate for the bulk.

If you're looking to buy one, Oleg posted the other day that he was looking to sell his 75 round drum. He said he bought it three years ago, so I imagine it's seen a bit of use, but still in good shape. He was asking somewhere near the $100 he paid for it. It is one of the Chinese style that open up to load, versus the Russian style that you have to wind. He may or may not still have it.

I have a Romanian SAR-1, but went to SKS Parts at Politically Incorrect and got a black Kvar or something similar, stock set for $54 (+S&H), had the stock, (incidentally, in either length) pistol grip, fore grip and gas tube cover. They also had the one piece "Dragonov" type, but I didn't care for it. Also, I am now reading about a recall for the Dragonov style. But in all black, it really looks bit****. Feels good, shoots well, and I can use it for about anything I need to, with or without scope and Bi-Pod. :p

I'm 6'1", and I prefer the Warsaw legnth stocks. For my purposes, the AK is a close quarters weapon, and I like it to be as compact and tight as possible. If I need it longer, there are slip-on pads to extend it. So far, unless I'm benchresting the short stock is fine for me. Like was posted before, the shorter stock also is nicer for when one has armor or an LBV.
