last, before the next one !

At first, I wasn't found about colt and the V notch in the hammer. So I began with a stainless 58 Army.
Shoot well, easy to clean, easy to load with paper cartridge, quite accurate, well a good handgun and ... no more.

Later, new idea grown slowly in my brain, I began to tough about a smaller caliber, lighter and shorter handgun and at top of that was curious about Colt architecture. Forums, reading and pictures helped me to figure how it would look!
So when he caught my eyes, he was mine.
Nothing fancy, but:

Pietta, Navy 36 police, Brass frame, 1862 and 5.5" barrel

The barrel is exactly the size I wanted, the overall balance look fine.
The grip is perfect for my hand and the gun is well balanced.
Sights ... near perfect. OK, all is new and hammer isn't sloppy, brass front sight look like "gold bead".

Cylinder and barrel are tight.

Brass frame size don't fit really well with iron part !

I didn't had pleasure to bring it at the range but manage some "enjoyable" dry firing session !!!!

A piece of rubber will help to wait

Brass frame have a "weak" reputation but I didn't manage to duplicate 357mag load ! only mild load to punch 25yards paper target.

Range won't re open before two months (sad story) that give time to think about polishing and lighting trigger also work on paper cartrigde for 36 (mostly building a mandrel).

Wait, wait ...

PS: It's a fine ancestor of my beloved 4" Diamondback

I'm always enamoured by their beauty.

Yep, the grips look like briard, really nice and uncommon.
But they need a little work as they aren't flush with frame. I'll try an old trick, I need a cutting tool, harder than wood that won't hurt brass, so a glass splinter is supposed to work well.

Tommy,
I bought the gun in a town most known for is wine "Bordeaux" than for local gunsmiths.
