Home Swage Round Ball?

Decade or two (or three) back there appeared an article in one of the BP related magazines about a company called Seneca Run that made a home round ball swage set. It consisted of the two dies (provide your own hammer a'la Lee Loader) a set to cast lead sticks and a cutter to cut them to proper size for swaging and a sizer to remove the bleed from the center of the ball ( they looked like little models of the planet Saturn as they came from the swage).

What happened to them?

Anyone have any experience with them?

Corbin is the only outfit that I've ever heard about that still offers home swaging equipment. They've been around for about 30 years making updates to their presses.
Here's the page about swaging round balls:

Here's the page about swaged lead bullets:

Here's their home page:

There was an in depth article in the 3rd Edition (1982) Black Powder Gun Digest on the round ball swaging tool on pages 162 through 169. The company that made the tool was Senica Run Incorporated, P.O. Box 3032, Greely Colorado 80633.

So far I have had no luck on finding out if they are still in business and such.

Hope this helps.

You could contact Hawk Bullets and see if they'll make a round ball swage die to your specs.
I bought .430 and .452 pistol bullet swaging dies from them. They make SWC, RNL, and JSP bullets, using a standard reloading press.
The fact that I didn't need a special swaging press is one of the things that sold me.
I wish I'd bought a lot more dies, in different calibers.
