After 3+ months of my gun setting in pieces, finally got the conversion done on my Saiga S-12. Full of Tapco cr@p right now. Had to grind everything to make it fit, hammer, trigger, stock, and foregrip! The foregrip still splays out at the front. May get rid of the junk and get all Tromix stuff next. If you're going to do it, do it right! Kudos to the Tromix DIY trigger guard. Easiest mod I did on the gun. Have to see if everything holds together once I start firing now! Not sure I got the Sheperd's on the hammer pin all the way. My moly resin finish seems soft since I only did the 230 or so cure to save the internal springs. My pistol slides I did at 300 seem a lot harder. Of course they didn't take the abuse and cussing I gave the S-12 trying to get things fitted!

How does it shoot?....

Shoots great, at least before I started the mods. The 10-rd AGP mags feed fine. Kicks like a mule with full power slugs. Had some bruises with the hard plastic original stock! Of course, I had never shot a 12g before this one. It didn't like the reduced recoil rounds I tried until I changed the gas setting. Some S-12's can run both with no problems. Maybe once it breaks in good!

Ready for SHTF now with S-12 in one hand and my PLR-16 in the other!

Check it again before trusting your life to it. Sometimes incompatibilities emerge.

Repeatng myself, but the Ayoob Test is a good reality based check. 200 rounds of duty ammo fired glitchless.

Runs OK on snap caps so far! Have to get to the range soon. Got a case full of slugs to test out. :D

I'll probably get tired of the AR style stock and go more AK style later. Just wanted a cheap telescoping stock to figure out what length I liked best.

Needs proper Kalashnikov sights. Very nice, though!

I double-dog-dare ya to take it out for a couple rounds of skeet! :neener: :D

I've got a question- do you have the proper threads for a brake/flash hider under the cap on the muzzle?

Yes, it's the threaded barrel version. Just haven't bought one yet. Shot it a few days ago. Worked good, nothing fell off! Trigger is a little sticky on reset. Need to file a bit more off the Tapco trigger. It's made for a regular AK and the hammer and trigger need some "tuning" (read grinding the F out of it). I think I had a fail to fire I need to check out, but could have just not been fully in battery. I was using some hollow point slugs that had a little rim on them and weren't feeding 100%. The hammer strikes seem a bit light to me, but the spring is fully on and not broken.

I've been wanting the AK style sights, but don't want to weld. The bolt on version for the S-12 has been out of stock for awhile.
