... That's two model was made in Japan at SEKI , now , they're made in Ta´wan ... the reason is certainly the price of " quality " .... but ,the quality is different according to the country ? .... or , nothing change !

Might as well have said -

Knives made in New York instead of Sheffield or Solengen? Poor 19th C

Knives made in Japan instead of New York? Poor 20th C.

Knives made in Taiwan instead of Japan? Poor (last few years of) 20th C.

Knives made in Peoples Republic of China? Poor 21st C.

Knives made in North Carolina due to the falling dollar? :D :scrutiny:

Knife manufacturing follows the money. Lower total cost moves manufacturing across continents and oceans. From Sheffield to New York to Japan to Taiwan, knife companies all start making knives that aren't quite up to the quality of their predecessors and then become good enough to start making knives of the same or better quality. The knives made for US companies from Japanese steel in Taiwanese factories can be of excellent quality. The knives made in China can be as well (as long as American QA/QC makes sure of it) made some day. As the dollar drops against Asian currencies and transportation costs soar we can expect to see manufacturing shift back to the US for knives.
