We haven't done this one, so why not?
I choose the Beretta M-12 SMG.

Why? It's a good gun, and nobody's talked about it before...
Your turn...:D

HK MP5 in 10 mm (unless the UMP comes in 10 mm). Reach out & touch someone. 275 meter touch is short rifle range.
I've fired the M12 and my only dislike is that I got sparks in the face when shooting left handed. Other than that, it's a fine gun.

My choice would be the H&K G36C with Trijies on a "short" rail..

MP5 9mm, no doubt.
I know HK and others like to market their tiny .223s as subguns, but do they really qualify? I don't believe they do. I'd prefer to call them "micro-assault rifles" or something to preserve the pistol caliber portion of the subgun definition.

I'll go with the H&K MP5 also, but I'll take them in .40S&W please. (That's to go with the .40S&W sigs that they'll be issued as sidearms)

Yeah, the "cool" armed forces would have MP5's!:D

Silenced 11.5 M16 commandos. That way same ammo, parts compatible with their M4s if I was restricted to pistol caliber sub guns then M16 9mm 90% in common with m16.

MP-5, or maybe a Colt subgun.

9mm Luger seems a little underpowered, so...
FAL shorty
Hey, it's about subgun-size ---wouldn't that count?

I'd like these ones:
Bizon (http://world.guns.ru/smg/smg08-e.htm)
http://world.guns.ru/smg/bizon.jpg
Note the Calico-style helical mag that holds 64 rounds handy. I've held this gun and it is really comfortable, especially with never MP5-style pistol grip and solid side-folding plastic butt from AK-74M
or this: PP-90M1 (http://world.guns.ru/smg/smg59-e.htm)
http://world.guns.ru/smg/pp90m1_1.jpg
with box magazine and adapter
or
http://world.guns.ru/smg/pp90m1_2.jpg
with 64 rounds heilcal magazine.
Both are in 9x19 Luger and can be loaded with very hot 7N21 and 7N31 armour-piercing ammo of Russian origin

Beretta model of 1918.

I got to try one of these about 15 years ago.
It was accurate, easy to control and reliable.
There is one trigger for semi and one for full auto.
Strangely enough it was the first submachinegun ever adopted for military use.

Suppressed Micro-box PDW in .224 BOZ, w/ Reflex daylight and IR sight and Scorpion tactical light.... then I woke up.

A modern submachine gun should be chambered in .45acp as it is subsonic and the issue pistol will be chambered in .45acp as well. A modern SMG should have a built in sound supressor and IR laser to be used with night vision goggles. It should have a pistol grip and vertical foregrip.

I have never seen an M12 before. That is cool! Is there a website anywhere that shows how they take down? That is just so cool, I want to know more about it.
