Still figuring this thing out, did a couple quick attempts to capture some recent "events"....
I know some people don't like the "pointed towards me" look, hopefully these are angled far enough away to help, all firearms triple checked unloaded.

Flame away!:)

I've always wondered how much protection a mattres would provide...

Nice pics, what kind of camera did you get?

7.1 megapixel Nikon Coolpix. Cheapest thing WalMart had that looked like it might work for me. Lost my old one, dagnabbit.

Included, very first pic with this thing...I got it about an hour ago.

And an old one updated for the events of the day...

Nah, good point, El Tejon! :)

Thank you, Viking, CZ P-01 with Crimson Trace Lasergrips.:D

Now I want one. No clubs near me though AFAIK. That means no license for this Viking .
I hate living here  :fire: :banghead:.

Lots of room in AZ, DOC will hire on a green card, just a BIT warmer, though...

Another old picture, revisited.

Like the semi-auto/revolver comparison picture. Mind if I suggest a new version?

Divide the picture into two. In one pane (headed 'illegal in D.C.'), a fairly non-threatening-looking .22 semi-auto pistol, in the other (headed 'illegal in D.C.') a revolver in .44Mag, .500SW etc. Under each gun is a round of its ammunition laid vertical so the size differences are apparent. At the bottom is a short banner caption along driving home how ridiculous the law is, but without implying revolvers or certain calibres should be illegal.

I've always wondered how much protection a mattres would provide...

Some here have thought the same. I tried getting enough of a TempurPedic mattress to test on but the company said no.

So did the wife!

I'm guessing five feet of mattress would slow a bullet down about one gnat hair's worth :uhoh:

ob thread hijack

Waterbed :-)

Good for blocking one shot width-wise...

Had a waterbed, HATED it. Yuck.
I think a mattress MIGHT slow down shotgun pellets, but not much else.
Box O' Truth, anyone?

BTW, Yes, I just noticed the spelling error...

I was looking at your pictures and I was like, "Hey, that pistol looks familiar." I have the same one. Excellent taste in handguns and great photos.

If I may ask, why do you wear two wedding rings?

Very cool pictures.

The gold one is the wedding ring, the silver is a ring that my wife wanted me to wear, we have matching ones that are engraved "Always and Forever". So I put them together.
Thank you, Picard, I do like them very much! :)

We bought a new mattress for the guest room the other day and the old one hasn't been hauled to the county landfill yet. I may have to do some experimenting next weekend when I'm home. :D

Well done! I dare say that you could be competing with Oleg down the road (and that's a compliment to you both!).

Thank you, but Oleg is quite the master at this, I just fool around.

Yeah, you've told me that before, and I'd probably go for that if I could get a Green Card. Haven't had any luck yet with the lottery though. Guess I'll have to get some kind of degree to help me :o.

Excellent pictures armoredman! Maybe one day you could compete with Oleg, because you are on you way...I just have one small suggestion:

Get a better looking model, because that guy is UUUGGGLLLYYY!!!

:neener::neener::neener:J/K

BTW, from the angle of the first picture, I could have swore that was an SP-01...It looks much longer from that angle.

Bazooka joe, why I oughta...agree with ya, I am too ugly for the pic, but I can't find anyone out here who wants to do it! :)
All guys say the gun looks bigger from the other end... :D

Try getting a reflector. Should be around 20 dollars or so. Make the light shine upon you, so that it will give a "pop" effect to you, distinguishing you from the background.

p.s Try to stay away from light source(like windows), the eyes will naturally drawn to it and away from the subject.

This was pretty hasty stuff, less than an hour from set up to post. I wish I had some good setups, may look into it, currently have nothing but a cheap camera, tripod, and Microsoft Picture it! Express.
Thank you for the advice and idea! My lighting system is an old swiveling three light floor lamp - one is now broken, thanks to a cat...
