Not too many deals out there anymore. We have seen the price go waaay up. Best I have found recently though is Lawrence shot for $36.49 per 25 lbs. They have told me that they can ship 2 bags per USPS flat rate box for $11.45 (not the shipping cost that is calculated when you order). This is at http://www.recobstargetshop.com
If you order, specify the shipping rate in the "notes" section of the order to be sure you get that price.

Last I saw at Bass Pro was $64.99 for magnum shot.

Our club has it for $36.00; just 8's and 9's left.

The scrap lead market is still coming down last I saw. I hope it starts to affect shot prices pretty soon!

I can't understand why the price of lead would be climbing. Most firing ranges with berms for backstops have to get the lead mined out of the dirt every couple of years if they get used alot. If you have one of these state of the art firing ranges with the "snail" collectors inside a thick steel backstop, all the bullets automatically get deposited in plastic buckets along the back of it. You just have to empty these buckets periodically to collect all the used bullets. All this scrap lead can be melted down and reused over and over again. Is there just not enough scrap lead out there to meet the demand of todays shooters or is there a lack of recycling going on at a majority of firing ranges?

I think it may have something to do with a lot of lead being deposited in the Iraqi desert. I'm not being sarcastic. Its just a fact. I see on a lot of rifle forums that .223 is very hard to get and that equates into a lot of lost lead. There is also a lot of new car batteries being made for all of the new cars built in China etc.

The price of metals must be shooting sky high because of the speculators in the market making obscene profits off trades in commodities of which they never actually take delivery. (sarcasm over)
