Savage Magazine

I've got a Savage 10FCP with the HS Precision stock. I'm looking for extra magazines, but I can't find any place online that tells what it is. I haven't seen any one any websites, including Brownells and Midway, that have the same plastic base. Anyone know, or am I just going to have to call up Savage? Thanks.

"...tells what it is..." Tells what what is? A 10FCP with the HS stock is an FP. It doesn't have a detachable mag. The FCP with the McMillan stock does though. According to their site.
I doubt any commercial supplier will have a mag for a LEO rifle. A cop supply place might though. Whether they'll sell to you is another thing.
Try one of these guys or contact Savage. http://www.savagearms.com/results.asp

I've found about 5 different Savage 308 mags, but none have the same floorplate. I'm wondering if one of the others will still work...
It is a 10FCP w/ a HS Precision Stock. They added the removable magazine version about October last year and changed from FP to FCP (C stands for Clip in their product designations).
Guess I'll just have to call Savage today. Thanks.

Savage's site isn't up to date, but, the HSP-stocked 10FCP now comes with a detachable mag.
Shorin, is this what you're looking for?

BTW, how do you like the 10FCP with that stock, and particularly, the detachable mag? I've been thinking about ordering the exact same thing.

That's the same mag I've found on a couple websites, but there's also about 4 more that are supposedly for the 10C. All the pictures show a different floorplate than mine. I didn't have a chance to call Savage today at work, and probably won't tomorrow due to a funeral. I'll post once I do know what mag it takes.
I love it. I really like the stock (better than the McMillan - personal preference), and it's cheaper than the McMillan by $100 too. I had to adjust the trigger up (was set almost all the way down), but that's all I had to do. Put on a set of Leupold Mark 4 rings, a SWFA Super Sniper 10x scope, Harris bipod, and went to town. Toward the end of the break-in I grouped it for the first time, and it measured 0.59" @ 100 yards for 5 shots w/ Federal 168gr match ammo. That's shooting prone off a bipod - no sand bags. That's hard to beat. Groups about 1.5" @ 275 yards. Haven't pushed past that. May glass bed it to see if I can get a little better, but I haven't decided. I think the rifle is already better than I can shoot...

here is a site that does offer a mag for the 10 fcp it is a 9 round, but better than nothing...just ordered mine yesterday, found the place on a different forum, you will need to call and order due to the fact that their website is not updated to reflect the new mag...

Here is the larger picture of copperstang's rifle and another one borrowed from another forum. The Savage 10 FCP looks good with the mag.

Just a couple of questions, by the way great looking gun!
1. Where did you get the picatinny rail or which size is it?
2. I have same gun I think where is the release for magazine on your gun?
3. Did you have to buy the conversion kit for the mag at sharpshooters or just the high capacity mag box kit?
thanks
