Some of you may or may not remember. I was torn between buying a Kimber Ultra Carry (3 inch barrel) or a Glock 30.
Well, I went to Galyans, opened up a credit card which allows 10% off of your first purchase (firearms included) with 0% interest for a year, and bought BOTH a Kimber Pro Carry (4 inch barrel) and a Glock 30.
I saved over 120 bucks by buying both guns at the same time and getting 10% total purchase price. Price for the Kimber Pro Carry was 611.00 and the G30 was 494.00.
I really could not decide which gun I wanted/liked more so that is what I did. This is my first gun purchase since 2001. I figured I deserved both of them. I hope I got a good deal because I sure did shop around long enough....

I bought my USP45 that way a couple months ago. I don't see how you could find a better price on a new firearm than 10% off Galyan's already reasonable prices.
Congrats on the purchases! Interesting combination too:)

You done good. I hope you bought about 500 rounds of ammo on the first purchase too.

When your card comes in you should get a coupon for $15 off of a $75 or more purchase. Could come in handy for ammo, especially since my local Galyans already offers 5% off of 5 or more boxes of white box.

Good information to have. The 10% off would be nice, I just need to keep the will power to stay away from the 12-months same as cash part! :) Hmmm.... Does Galyan's have AR-15's? I've been wanting to get one for quite awhile and this would be a nice discount!
Since they didn't have much info listed on their web page, I tried doing a google to see what I could come up with and found out that they give in to the anti-gun lobby without much problems: http://www.ichv.org/topstories.htm

Hum...
I may have to do this and get a shotgun...
How long does the sale last?

Not sure how long the sale lasts, and I am not sure if Galyans has any AR-15s. I was focused on handguns last night... I think the 15 dollar coupon will go towards one of those plastic molded holsters for the G30.

Hey, I like the sound of this. They're opening a store here in a month or two - whenever the multi-gazillion-dollar mall gets finished. Actually, we're getting 2 new monster mega-malls and I even don't know which one gets the Galyans.

10% was the employee discount on firearms.
The, yes, when I worked at Galyan's we sold ARs, however that was in its state of origin (Indiana). I'm sure it's a lot different on the East Coast.:(

Do it. You know you want to. Buying a new 28g SxS and attempting to wear it out at the Trap range will pull you out of your gun funk. :D

I want to handle the Stoeger 28 before I buy it, and Galyans doesn't seem to be interested in carrying the damned thing, just special ordering it, for which they charge a niftly little special order fee and a few other zingers on top of charging the frigging MSRP.
No thanks.

I pre-ordered my Kimber. No "special order" fees are charged to me.

I'm in Utah, so there's probably a good chance the one here will carry them too. I'm going to have go on a drive to Salt Lake and find out for sure.
P.S. I hate good deals when you really should keep your money for something else! :D :D

I've never ordered a gun through them, only bought off the shelf. Do they make you pay when you order or when you take delivery?

Beats me. After the guy started rattling off all of the extras, and then tried VERY hard to sell me a Beretta that I specifically told him that I didn't want, I got pissed and left.

That sounds a little weird, Mike. The Galyans around Atlanta do charge an order fee, but it's usually less than the other FFL's around here charge to recieve something (I think it's $10 or $15), and I've never had them charge MSRP, not even close. In fact, they usually have the best prices in the area. Strange, maybe it's a regional thing.

Just noticed you said MSRP. They've never quoted MSRP to me. Except for the Winchester I bought this winter, they've had the same price or slightly better for various guns. The only problem is getting a quote from them. They always seem to have a reason they can't call right then. I'd involve a manager if you're interested at all.

They charged me $10.00 to order a USP 45 because I didn't want the one in the case. I don't think they normally charge anything if it is a normally stocked item that just don't currently have. I have the same problem with price checks at my store. They are usually "too busy" to call right then. I leave my phone number and it's hit or mis on the follow up, sometimes I have to call back. My understanding is they have an 8% markup on their guns which means they are losing money to firearms sales on the 10% off card. Gues they make it up elsewhere or maybe the finance company of the card eats some of it for the anticipated interest?

Interesting. My Galyans (Kennesaw) did not charge many anything to order my Kimber. My Kimber is a regularly stocked item, so maybe that is why....
