General things that make you think about guns

Unpacked my new cordless drill and read the instructions and laughed out loud when I read: "never have your finger on the trigger when you are not ready to use the drill"
What do you see that means a little extra to a gun owner that the normal public wouldn't give a second thought?

Gun handling in movies always sets me off. Maybe that's why nobody wants to watch movies with me anymore! LOL

Gun handling in movies always sets me off.
When the news media can't get gun info right sets me off...:banghead:
I also find myself, when using any type of aerosol spray, reminding myself not to look directly into the "muzzle"... :scrutiny:

Hotel room numbers.
I average 10-12 days a month in hotels. Every time I get a room numbered 223 or 308 or such I get a smile on my face.
Then there is the game 'spot the air marshal.' I'm pretty good at that one.

Can I say my airsoft guns?
Well, thinking about Anime (japanese cartoons) does, because my favorite Anime is Trigun, and anybody who has seen that can tell why.
License plates, various random numbers I find, etc., for the same reason as the hotel numbers.
Laser pointers, the Lambda sign (Half-life, anyone?), and, oddly enough, stuffed animals, because I have a few stuffed animals from my childhood that occupy the same shelf as my increasingly large cartridge collection.
Target department stores, anything paintball, and my father's room (where every gun in the house inevitably gets stored, at least until we get a safe). I guess that's about it.

This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but I think of guns every time I see a potential danger and am not carrying. Such as a suspicous looking caracter in a parking lot, or a group or gang of folks loitering somehwere.

General things that make you think about guns
 Conciousness? It seems that guns and shooting are so much a part of my life that just about every thing I do is intermixed with thoughts of guns.
It really doesn't help when drills, and soldering guns and other tools are shaped like guns. Or that many sayings and phrases we use every day have their origin in shooting. :uhoh:

At work a while back a guy was using a nail gun, and when he reloaded it before it was completly empty,I told him he did a Tactical Reload.....he just looked at me like I was nuts.
I also find my self flinching when people reach for their cell phone!!
The running joke around my house is "we could always shoot it."I look at small objects as targets.......go to the dollar store w/ that in mind and see what I mean.
No before either of my kids go to throw something out, they ask if I want to shoot it.......my wife is watching the pile of small targets grow on our portch......

License plates, various random numbers I find
Growing up, in California no less (before it went totally nuts and became the PRK) my best friend's dad had a car with the completely legit, randomly assigned plate 357 GUN. I thought it was the greatest thing.

Everything. I actually lose sleep at night thinking about guns. I read something that men my age think about sex every 10 minutes. I think about guns more than that.
I seriously need to tone it back. Good thing I'm in California or it could be worse :D

I wouldn't use one in these situations, but it sure makes me think of them. 1.Whenever I driving along and some on pulls out in front of me. 2. People driving and talking on a cell phone.

When the weather guy on TV says the barometer is reading 30.06 . . .
When the clock reads 2:23 or 3:57 or 3:08 . . .
Lots more things, but I don't want you guys to think I'm too weird. ;)

Liscense Plates are always a source of amusement, as well as work, I work in the Produce Department at a grocery store and sometimes we also run a register so when the total comes out to $3.57 or $5.56 or $2.23, well you get the picture.

When I see one of these, I always think, " Lessee now, the rifle range should go there, the trap houses there, ..... and we could practice clearing drills in the clubhouse."

That's a much better use for a golf course... all that wasted space. Sorry to all the golfers...
If I want to put balls in holes, I'd much rather play pool.

Just think: The caddies could continue their employment! We'd hire them to ride those electric carts out to the butts to exchange targets for us and to bring up more ammo etc. Maybe they could still give advice. After all, they already know a little about wind dope.

That's a much better use for a golf course... And there are better (though noisier) ways of killing gophers than by dropping little round balls on their heads . . . :neener:
